The Bluewhale Screamer has over the years developed from it's origin as a Tubescreamer, although it bears little resemblance to a Tubescreamer now, what it does retain is the Tubescreamers soft clipping principle. The Screamer has 1 silicon transistor to keep things stable and to ensure that temperature variations do not adversely affect the pedals performance, and a germanium transistor to add all that characteristic harmonic distortion and warmth to the tone. The Screamers gain is variable up to around 400 times, this gain is controlled by a negative feedback loop which contains 2 germanium diodes, the gain control and a filter to keep the pedal from getting muddy. I can modify this filter for you to extend the bottom end if you want to use this pedal with a bass. The Screamer has a warm, smooth tone with compression and sustain at higher gain settings, this pedal works fantastically well with both humbucker and single coils, either of which will benefit from it's classic overdrive character and germanium warmth. All Bluewhale pedals are handcrafted by myself with care and attention to detail in Bude Cornwall, I use only high quality parts sourced from trusted suppliers to produce the best possible pedals, they come with the promise of fantastic tone and are robust and reliable, and the price tag that won't make your eyes water.
